Try sailing at the free open day held at Bardowie Loch (near Milngavie).

Anyone can get on the water. Have a spin on a powerboat or learn the ropes on one of our sail boats. Find out about the Clyde Cruising Club Dinghy Section and our lessons and coaching, and club racing throughout the year. Its a chance for you to see our facilities and have a coffee and cake while you chat to our experienced sailors.

We run evening classes and our popular summer school is a great way to spend time during the holidays while learning a sport that the whole family can enjoy together. Training is approved by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and are open to adults and juniors (aged 8 and above). Summer School is available for 6 weeks from the 29th of June.

The dinghy sailing section at Bardowie Loch has been running for over 90 years as part of the Clyde Cruising Club and has a fleet of over 70 boats that members can use. The club house opened in 2004 and provides a warm and comfortable shore base, including disabled access. Young people and adults with disabilities are encouraged to take part in the sport on equal terms with able-bodied sailors. We've even had racing champions start their sailing careers at our club.
