Dinghy insurance provider, insurance4dinghies.com, is a main sponsor at this year's RYA Scotland Champion of Champions dinghy sailing event taking place at East Lothian Yacht Club on 20 and 21 October 2012.

Celebrating its 50th year, around 400 sailors from 20 classes of dinghies compete in 50 regattas – working through the rankings to receive a Class Association nomination and a place in Scotland's ultimate head-to-head dinghy 'sail-off'.

80 finalists will race for the Championship title in 48 dinghies ranging from classic designs to ultra modern skiffs.

Insurance4dinghies.com managing director, Nigel Mills, comments: "Our philosophy is to support the communities we insure, so I'm delighted to be involved with this prestigious event for another year. The Championship is undoubtedly going from strength to strength and I wish all competitors the very best of luck."

Already this year insurance4dinghies.com has sponsored; the RS Tera National Championships, Bassenthwaite Sailing Club's Annual Regatta, British Hobiecat Nationals, the Port of Dartmouth Sailing Regatta and the Hurricane Nationals at Brightlingsea Sailing Club.

In 2011, Insurance4dinghies.com also gave a young dinghy sailor and Olympic hopeful, Scott Wallis from Hampshire, £2000 in financial support and its parent company - Towergate Insurance (Marine) won the Claims Service of the Year accolade at the UK Broker Awards. This year it was a finalist for the same award.
