In December, there were no competitive events but we attended two training weekends. The first one was open training in Poole. Unfortunately, my partner Josh, was ill on the Saturday morning, so I sailed with Charlie Dodd who is the brother of one of the other sailors. Josh was OK to sail by the afternoon, so we managed to get out and enjoy some perfect sailing conditions. Sunday brought lighter wind and we practised a lot of routines which proved to be very useful.
The next weekend was training but this time at Grafham Water and the weather was very cold. It was hard to rig the boat because we'd lost all feeling in our hands. The wind was again very light, but despite the wind, we got two full days of training in and again learned a lot.
We are looking forward to starting the transitional squad training in January!
