Volkswagen Touareg sponsorship for SB3 class continues

Laser and the Laser SB3 Class Association are proud to announce that Volkswagen Touareg are sponsoring the SB3 class for a second year, following their successful sponsorship of the class at Cowes Week 2004. The 2005 sponsorship is for the UK Eurocup events, Seaview, Lymington, Cowes Week and also for the 2005 National Championships in Torbay. Henri-Lloyd has also renewed their support for the class, becoming the official clothing sponsor for a third year.
David Graham, MD of Laser stated ‘This new, unprecedented, innovative Volkswagen sponsorship package clearly demonstrates the expanding Laser SB3 fleet is the boat to be in. We are delighted with the continued support from Volkswagen, it gives the sailors “added value” for the 2005 circuit, and places the boat / class in a very dominant position for future years’.
Competitors in key events, particularly Cowes Week 2005, will benefit from free VW Touareg branded spinnakers in addition to excellent prizes and VW/Henri Lloyd branded shore clothing. It is anticipated that 50 SB3’s will be racing under VW sponsored sails at Cowes, all using the VW subsidised mooring arrangement at the dramatically upgraded Shepherds Wharf. Also to note, over 50 boats have already entered for the European Championships on Lake Garda in June and additional entries are anticipated from the rapidly growing French and Portuguese fleets.
