Laser Supports Sail for Gold 2004

The Sail for Gold Ball was held on Thursday 3rd June 2004, at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, in the presence of HRH Princess Anne. Dave Graham and Sally-Ann Johnson from Laser were invited to attend by Dinghy Sailing Magazine who hosted a table in the Grand Ballroom.

The evening included an introduction to all the sailors in the various disciplines - those representing Great Britain at the Olympic and Para-Olympic Games in Greece in August.

A champagne reception and sumptuous dinner was followed by an Auction, compared by Davina McCall and Nicholas Bonham (Deputy Chairman of Bonham's Auctioneers), which raised £100,000 for the Sail for Gold Charity which supports the Olympic and Para-Olympic Sailors in their preparations for the Games.

Laser donated for Auction, the Laser which Paul Goodison will sail at the Olympics - this lot raised a magnificent £9,000, with a generous bid from Mr. Charles Dunstone.
