St. Croix will welcome sailors from around the world this November as the island hosts the 55th Annual International Sunfish Class Association (ISCA) Youth, Women's, Masters & Open World Championships, taking place November 4-14, 2026.
As one of the premier one-design sailing events in the world, the ISCA World Championships will bring elite competitors from across the globe to St. Croix, showcasing the island's exceptional sailing conditions while generating international exposure for the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Recognized by World Sailing as an International Class, the Sunfish—now raced under the ISCA designation—remains one of the world's most popular and accessible sailboats. The World Championships represent the pinnacle of competition for the class, featuring top sailors in the Youth, Women's, Masters, and Open divisions.
As preparations continue, the organizing committee invites local businesses, community leaders, and supporters to attend a Meet & Greet on Wednesday, July 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the upstairs bar of the historic Hotel Comanche in downtown Christiansted.
Guests will have the opportunity to meet the event organizers, learn more about the Championships, and discover sponsorship and advertising opportunities available through the official ISCA World Championship program book—a premium publication that will be distributed to sailors, teams, sponsors, volunteers, and visitors from around the world.
"The World Championships are an incredible opportunity to showcase St. Croix on an international stage," said Regatta Director Greg Deegan. "We encourage our business community to get involved and take advantage of the exposure this event will bring to the island."
Additional information, including event schedules, volunteer opportunities, sponsor announcements, and registration updates, will be released as planning continues.
