St. Croix will take the world stage in November 2026 when the island hosts the 55th Annual International Sunfish Class Association (ISCA) World Championships, scheduled for November 4-14, 2026.
Notable sailors from around the globe are expected to compete in this premier one design sailing event, bringing international attention to St. Croix and reinforcing the U.S. Virgin Islands' reputation as a world class sailing destination.
Recognized by World Sailing as an International Class, the Sunfish—now raced under the ISCA designation—is one of the most widely sailed one design boats in the world. The ISCA World Championships represent the highest level of competition for the class and attract elite sailors across multiple divisions, including Youth, Women, Masters, and Open.
As part of the lead up to the Championships, local businesses and community partners are invited to a Meet & Greet on May 13 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the upstairs bar of the historic Hotel Comanche. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the Championships, connect with event organizers, and explore ways to promote their businesses through advertising opportunities in the official ISCA World Championship book, a premium publication distributed to sailors, teams, sponsors, and international guests.
Additional event details, including host venue information, registration timelines, and further community involvement opportunities, will be announced as planning continues.
