We're tracking female mud crabs to learn more about their spawning migration.

If you find a tagged mud crab, text a photo of it—along with its location and the date—to the number printed on the tag. In return, we'll send you a free crab escape vent!

Escape vents allow undersized mud crabs and fish to exit crab pots, reducing the risk of overcrowded crabs injuring one another and making it easier for people to sort their catch.

Remember it's illegal to keep female mud crabs in Queensland. If you handle a female mud crab, it must be immediately returned to the water unharmed.
