Event: Channel Race
24 Jul 2021
Open to these classes: IRC, Class 40 & Multihull
The Channel Race is one of the Club’s oldest events, dating back to 1928 when it was introduced as the Junior Ocean Race on a 250 mile triangular course, designed to be the second ‘ocean race’ after the Fastnet. As the last race before the Rolex Fastnet Race, the Channel Race remains a popular last minute warm-up for competitors, enabling them to focus on ironing out technical and tactical issues just one week before the start of the headline event. The round-marks course in the English Channel is designed to fit predicted weather conditions, with a duration of around 20-30 hours.
