Bringing together in Cowes the strong fleet of XOD dayboats from around the Solent, the RORC Telegraph Bowl will provide a tense two day regatta of extremely close racing. At 21ft, the XOD is one of the smallest keelboats to compete in and around the Solent, but its pedigree is strong, being designed over a 100 years ago to cope with the local waters’ short, steep chop. Without any electronic navigational aides, the XOD relies upon fine tuning to excel and, despite its age, maintains its reputation as a most challenging, but satisfying race boat. The RORC Telegraph Bowl is the perfect warm-up event for XODs prior to Cowes Classic Week, the following week.
