Dell Quay Sailing Club Junior Week 2026

by James Pound 16 Aug 14:18 BST 27-31 July 2026

An adventure on every wave!

Earlier in the summer we saw over 50 juniors hit the water every day for Dell Quay Sailing Clubs annual Junior Week, and what a week it was!

Target aims for the week aside of the key most important thing - Have Fun was to improve overall sailing skills, seamanship, racing, capsize practise, swimming, self-confidence, team building and making friends! With activities over the week ranging from day sails down the harbour, beach lunches and swims, basic seamanship skills along with more experienced skills being taught, rigging, derigging and racing practise. All of this then culminated on the last day with 'Junior Week Regatta'. This involved 32 boats taking part and a huge amount of fun was had by all!

This week would not take place without the help of over 40 volunteers (not all parents of those involved) who help with the teaching and caring, the feeding and covering safety ashore and afloat - a massive thank you to you all! Kids were fuelled on adrenaline, bacon sandwiches, 'Fastnet Curry', 'Skippers Nachos' as well as fun, friends and sailing!

Friday afternoon culminated in prize-giving and a lot of thank you's as well as plans to make it all happen again next year!

"Junior week was lots of fun, Dell Quay is such a nice community. Sailing here never gets old!" Griff age 9

DQSC Junior Week is open to Members only - if you would love your children to have a huge amount of fun surrounded by one of the most beautiful and safe locations in Chichester Harbour, get in touch and we would happily answer any of your questions.

Please follow and see what you're missing out on!
