Off the Beach titles decided as week builds towards Passage Racing finale

Day 3 of Brisbane Race Week presented by Porsche Centre Brisbane saw the VX One and Finn classes complete their series on Moreton Bay, as the broader fleet prepares for another day of passage racing.

On the Off the Beach course, the VX One class delivered a tightly contested regatta, with Mack One (Ben Franklin) securing the overall win on the back of consistent performances across the series. Double Black (John Somerville) and Lateshift (Peter Conde) rounded out the podium after a competitive three days of racing.

The Finn fleet proved one of the most closely fought of the regatta, with Annie (Larry Kleist), Jazel (Kane Sinclair) and Lonya (Tristan Perez) pushing each other throughout the series. With little separating the top sailors, the class delivered some of the tightest racing seen across the week.

Across the yacht fleet, the leaderboard continues to take shape as the regatta moves into its second half.

In the Monohull Performance division, Tool Time (Stephen O'Brien) remains the benchmark, with KERB (John Whitbread) continuing to apply pressure.

The Monohull Cruising division remains highly competitive, with Danseur, French Kiss and Blackadder all firmly in contention as consistency continues to prove critical across the varying formats.

Blackadder skipper Sandy Grant said the week so far has been about execution and adapting to conditions.

"Well, we haven't won it yet, but I've done my bit," he said.

"The furling gennaker today worked really well, the crew were brilliant, and we'll see how it all plays out."

With racing continuing today with a longer passage race, crews will again look to balance performance and positioning as the series progresses.

Off the water, the regatta continues to build momentum, with the social program drawing strong crowds and reinforcing the community feel that defines Brisbane Race Week.

Attention now turns to the next phase of racing, with the fleet set for a passage race on Moreton Bay today, where changing conditions are expected to once again play a decisive role.
