Strong Racing on Penultimate Day Sets Stage for Final Showdown

The fifth and penultimate day of competition has concluded in Los Alcázares, Spain, at the 2026 ILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy. Sailors were greeted with fantastic conditions, with sunshine and a steady 8 to 12 knots of wind setting the stage for another full day of racing.

After a short postponement ashore, the first races got under way at around 14:00. All fleets successfully completed two races, bringing the total to ten races sailed so far in the championship.

Following a straightforward and consistent day on the water, the fleets began returning ashore from around 16:15, where sailors could relax, connect with friends and enjoy a traditional paella together.

With just one day of racing remaining, the pressure builds as the fight for the titles intensifies. The current leaders in each championship are as follows:

Girls Overall:
