2026 iQFOiL International Games #2 at Cadiz, Spain - Day 3

by iQFOiL Class Association 11 Mar 19:14 GMT 7-13 March 2026

The 2026 iQFOiL International Games #2, organized by the Federación Andaluza de Vela in co-operation with the International iQFOiL Class Association, by delegation of the Real Federación Española de Vela and the Consejo Superior de Deportes, reached its halfway point today with spectacular racing conditions in the Bay of Cádiz.

The sailors were welcomed today by an excellent thermal wind, ideal for running Upwind Sprint races across all six fleets. The steady conditions allowed the competitors to push hard on the racecourse and provided thrilling action throughout the day.

In the Senior Women's fleet, local Olympian Pilar Lamadrid (ESP) continued her impressive form, repeatedly crossing the finish line first and consolidating her overall lead in the event. Nela Sadilkova (CZE) holds steady in second place, while Katerina Svikova (CZE) remains third.

In the Senior Men's fleet, Brazilian Olympian Mateus Isaac (BRA) delivered an outstanding performance, claiming four race wins and reclaiming the overall lead from Onur Cavit Biriz (TUR). Noah Lyons (USA) also enjoyed a strong day on the water, moving into third place overall.

In the U17 Girls' fleet, Parla Kabasakal (TUR) dominated the day, adding five race wins to her scoreline and strengthening her position at the top of the leaderboard. Anna Jannieke Korevaar (NED) keeps second place, while Maria Miarczynska (POL) completes the provisional podium.

In the U17 Boys, Swann Manhaval (FRA) successfully defends his overall lead after another solid day of racing. Enric Patino Riutord (ESP) remains second, while Frantisek Burda (CZE) moves into third place.

In the U19 Boys, the battle at the top continues to intensify between Jorge Ruiz Lopez (ESP) and Peyton Dits (NED). The Spanish sailor delivered three race wins today, allowing him to maintain the overall lead ahead of the Dutch rider. Joining them in the provisional top three is the reigning U17 European Champion Finn Brüll (NED).

The U19 Women's fleet also saw movement in the rankings. Thea Le Borgne Zibetti (FRA) maintains her position at the top of the standings. Ruya Ugurlu (TUR), who secured two race wins today, keeps second place, while Tsz Yuet Cheung (HKG) climbs into third overall after an impressive day on the water.

With three days of racing completed and the regatta now past its halfway mark, the competition at the iQFOiL International Games #2 in Cádiz continues to tighten across all fleets. Tomorrow will be a crucial day, as sailors fight for the positions that will determine who advances to the Medal Series.
