Get your season off to a flying start at the most beautiful inland sailing venue (unofficially 'the Garda of the North'!), with a two-day training weekend at Ullswater Yacht Club (UYC) over the 18th and 19th of April.

This organised training, sponsored by Noble Marine Insurance, will take place the weekend before the first Scottish and Northern UK Circuit event for 2026 - the Daffodil Regatta at UYC on 25/26th April.

A big thanks to Noble Marine for their continued support this season. They have been a long-time sponsor of the GBR Musto Skiff class, and with a fund contribution towards our 2026 training budget, we are able to subsidise this training weekend.

Training Weekend Details:

  • A minimum of 10-12 boats is required for the training to go ahead, so please commit early.
  • Maximum of 20 places.
  • Coach will be Rob Richardson who currently has GBR2 on his sail having placed second overall at the 2025 Musto Skiff World Championship in Sydney.
  • Training will take place on Saturday (rigged and ready for 11.30am) and Sunday (rigged and ready for 10.30am).
  • All levels are encouraged, particularly those newer to the class. The training will cover boat set up, boat handling techniques, boat speed, and other Musto Skiff racing top tips.
  • Cost is £40 per participant (both members and non-members of UYC), payable to the Musto Skiff Class Association via WebCollect here: webcollect.org.uk/msca/event/class-coaching-ullswater-yacht-club-18-19-april-2026
  • Price includes on-site camping, for those that wish to, and boat storage for the week ahead. All visiting boats must be removed after the Daffodil Regatta.
  • When you sign up for the training, please also enter the Daffodil Regatta to aid with club planning: ullswateryachtclub.org/event/daffodil-regatta-2027
  • To enter the training, you must be a current paid member of the Musto Skiff Class Association for 2026: mustoskiff.com/class/membership
Jono Shelley has kindly agreed to host a class dinner and social for all participants (and supporters) at his cottage nearby on the Saturday evening. Any questions on the training, please message him via the Musto Skiff GBR WhatsApp Group or directly.

In 2024 there were 26 entries at the Daffodil and some excellent close racing - let's beat that!!
