Mornington Yacht Club (MYC) will host one of Port Phillip's biggest junior and youth sailing weekends when the Sayers & Co Schnapper Point Regatta returns on 14-15 February 2026.

Celebrating everything from first-ever start lines to championship-level pace, Schnapper Point brings a wide mix of sailors together — kids just finding their feet, teenagers and grandparents alike pushing themselves, and high-performance classes sending it down the course.

Because at Mornington, everyone should be able to Sail the Point your way.

"Schnapper Point is special because everyone gets to belong, whether you're launching into your very first race or pushing for the top of the leaderboard. We want every sailor to feel supported, confident and excited to be out there learning, competing and having fun. That's what Schnapper Point is all about." ~ Melissa Warren, Sailing Manager, Mornington Yacht Club

The 2026 regatta welcomes Optimists from Green to Open Fleet, ILCA 4/6/7, 420s, 29ers and a broad range of monohull fleets. Adding to the excitement, both the 2026 Musto Skiff Australian National Championships and the 2026 International B14 Victorian State Championship will be raced over the weekend as part of the regatta.

Off the water, MYC turns into a lively regatta hub — music, food, sandy feet, gear drying on fences, and sailors trading stories over hot chips and choccy milkshakes on the deck.

For new racers, the Green Fleet provides a safe and encouraging environment with short courses, close support and plenty of small wins that build confidence early.

"We love watching young sailors find that spark — the moment they realise they can handle the course, make smart decisions and sail across the finish with a huge grin. This regatta builds confidence in a way that keeps them hooked on the sport for life." ~ Will McKenzie, Head Coach, Mornington Yacht Club

With reliable afternoon sea breezes and one of the most spectator-friendly waterfronts on the bay, Mornington is uniquely placed to deliver a top-tier racing and club experience.

"Mornington has a long and proud history of hosting this regatta, and every year we're thrilled to welcome sailors from across the state to experience our venue and our club culture. It's a weekend that captures everything MYC stands for — family, friendship and great sailing." ~ Andrew Parker, Commodore, Mornington Yacht Club

Sailors can enter the regatta online via the Mornington Yacht Club website.
