Chichester Yacht Club Winter Series Returns for 2025-2026

by Mark Green 25 Oct 13:31 BST November 2025 - March 2026

Chichester Yacht Club's long-running Winter Series is set to return this November, offering dinghy sailors a well-organised and competitive racing programme through the colder months.

Split into two parts—Frozen Toe before Christmas and Snowflake in the new year—the series continues to attract a strong turnout, with over 50 boats competing in the series.

Frozen Toe 2025 Dates:

  • Sunday 9th November
  • Sunday 23rd November
  • Sunday 7th December
  • Sunday 21st December

Entry Fees:

Visitors: £15 per boat per event or £40 for the series
Youth Visitors: £10 per boat per event or £25 for the series

Snowflake 2026 Dates:

  • Sunday 4th January
  • Sunday 18th January
  • Sunday 1st February
  • Sunday 22nd February
  • Sunday 8th March

(Snowflake series pricing to be confirmed.)

Racing takes place on Chichester Lake, with the course area located directly in front of the clubhouse. The club's committee boat is operated by experienced race officers who aim to set fair and engaging courses suited to the conditions.

Facilities include a tea bar and a full bar/restaurant, providing refreshments before and after racing. Competitors can enter individual events or the full series. Berthing is available in the club's dinghy park—contact the office for details.

New members joining during the winter months will benefit from a reduced joining fee, which is credited to their membership account and can be used in the bar or restaurant. It's a practical way to get involved in the club and experience winter sailing on the lake.
