Freestyle Pro Tour Geneva - Day 1

by Freestyle Pro Tour 8 Oct 20:31 BST 8-12 October 2025
Summer break's officially over – the Freestyle Pro Tour is back in action! - Freestyle Pro Tour Geneva - Day 1 © Freestyle Pro Tour

Day one of the Freestyle Pro Tour Geneva opened under calm skies and even calmer winds — the perfect setup for a chilled out morning morning of registration, equipment stickers, photos, and the usual pre-event logistics.

Riders trickled into the venue throughout the day, rigging their equipment in preparation for what's shaping up to be an action-packed weekend on Lake Geneva.

The afternoon skipper's meeting set the tone for the days ahead, with the Foilstyle fleet briefed and ready for tomorrow's promising forecast. All eyes are on the forecast window opening late morning, with conditions expected to deliver a lightwind breeze around 12-15 knots: exactly what the riders are looking for for foilstyle.

But as the sun began dipping over the city of Geneva, the energy shifted into high gear for what has now become a tradition at this event - a sundowner Tow-In session. With the water glassy and light spilling across the lake, riders launched into tow-in practice, drawing a crowd along the shoreline.

Leading the charge was none other than Yentel Caers, last year's event winner, who wasted no time picking up where he left off. Within minutes, he was back sending massive Triple Air Rotations - the same move that sealed him the event vicotry last year, only in the first practice session of the event.

Another standout was Tigo Kort, looking razor-sharp and confident. Kort was stomping nearly everything he threw down — from clean Double Funnels on flat water to a bold attempt at a Double Air Culo off the ramp. Bodhi Kempen stomped a smooth Pasko after calling it out earlier on the beach, making it look so effortless it drew applause from riders watching on the dock.

Not everyone had the start they were hoping for, though. Lennart Neubauer, reigning tow-in champion and one of the tour's most technical riders, admitted he was "feeling quite rusty" after a long break from the discipline. Still, he didn't hesitate to acknowledge Yentel's impressive display: "He looks like the guy to beat."

With the forecast looking ideal for tomorrow, the Foilstyle action is set to take center stage. Riders will hit the water from 11:00 AM, with the livestream running live throughout the day.

Make sure to tune in to FPT socials for behind-the-scenes coverage and catch the livestream so you don't miss a moment of the action — Geneva is ready to deliver.
