Marinas26 – Future Smart Call for Speaking Papers

With exhibition space close to sold out and 150 delegates already registered; the Marina Industry Association (MIA) has commenced the planning of the conference content.
Taking place every two years, the conference ensures delegates receive the most up to date information with respect to the economic environment and how it will affect the industry, industry data, trends and performance benchmarks as well as well as key legislative changes that require attention or have an impact on the industry.
This year's conference theme will be 'Future Smart', reflecting the rapid transformation of the marina industry driven by technology, sustainability, and changing customer expectations. Marinas are evolving from being purely berthing facilities to becoming sophisticated hubs that integrate digital systems, innovative design, and environmental responsibility. A 'future smart' marina will use data, automation, and connected services to deliver seamless experiences for boaters, improve operational efficiency, and maximise environmental outcomes.
Marinas26 Conference Chair, Karen Baldwin commented, "The future focussed lens will ensure that industry is aware of the opportunities created by the rapid technological change we are experiencing. This theme highlights how embracing new technologies - from energy management and renewable infrastructure to AI-powered customer service and predictive maintenance - will help marinas stay competitive, resilient and profitable."
'Future Smart' is also about forward-thinking strategies, collaboration, and future-proof planning. By exploring this theme, the conference will encourage marina operators, developers, and suppliers to anticipate industry shifts, share knowledge, and lead innovation to ensure a thriving, sustainable future for boating communities worldwide.
The MIA calls for contributors to provide speaking proposals that are aligned with the conference theme and that will deliver informative, thought provoking and motivating content for owners and operators of marinas and boatyards.
Submissions are to be emailed to Suzanne Davies at , and must outline the primary topic and include a short abstract (200-300 words), explain how the topic is aligned with the conference theme, how the content will benefit the target audience by articulating the learning outcomes or key 'takeaways' and the proposed duration, excluding any Q&A. A speaker bio should also be included outlining the speaker's qualification and relevant experience (roles, projects).
Taking place on the 25th and 26th May 2026 at the Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast, Marinas26 offers the most efficient and effective way for industry suppliers to connect and engage with key marina industry influencers as they gather in one location over two days. Over 400 industry delegates are expected to attend.
