The Lanzarote Calero Sailing Team is heading into the third stage of the 2025 44Cup in Marstrand, Sweden, with a clear objective: to turn the season around and climb the overall rankings.

The team returns to these waters with good memories, having claimed a remarkable third place the last time they raced in Marstrand back in 2011.

This regatta represents a turning point in the season, as the team seeks to regain momentum in one of the most competitive circuits in international sailing. Official practice will begin on 24 June, with racing scheduled from 25 to 28 June.

The team, led by Alfredo González, features a well-established crew and approaches this new challenge with greater preparation and experience. "We return to Marstrand with a clear mindset and strong motivation. This venue has always held something special for us, and we want to deliver a performance that takes us back to the top," says the tactician.

Institutional support has also been expressed from their home island. Oswaldo Betancort, President of the Lanzarote Island Council, stated: "Lanzarote wishes the Lanzarote Calero Sailing Team the greatest success. Like our island, they are unique, different, and full of talent and skill. A true benchmark in both sports and nautical excellence. Go team! You are pure Lanzarote DNA."

The Lanzarote Calero Sailing Team is supported by a strong group of partners that believe in the power of sport as a tool for global visibility. Their main backers include Turismo Lanzarote, the Centros de Arte, Cultura y Turismo (CACT), Calero Marinas, Calmar, Lanzarote Investment, and John Woods Real Estate. On the technical side, the team collaborates with Harken (via Equipyacht) and Gottifredi Maffioli, with Alegra Travel serving as their official travel partner.

With challenging wind conditions forecast for both training and racing days, the 44Cup Marstrand promises to be an exciting and action-packed event.

Fans can follow the team's journey through their official social media channels, with exclusive content shared daily from Sweden.
