Lanzarote Calero Sailing Team, Spain's representative in the 44Cup, has wrapped up the World Championship in Scheveningen after four days of extreme racing on the North Sea, with gusts exceeding 35 knots and one of the toughest racecourses of the season.

In this context, the team achieved a fifth place finish in one of the most demanding races of the championship, as well as several first roundings at the windward mark, confirming that with some adjustments they can compete at the pace of the leading crews and continue consolidating their progression in the class.

Team owner Daniel Calero shared his view: "With a few adjustments and racing in Canary waters we see the possibility of closing the season on a high. Taking part in such a demanding World Championship and securing a fifth place in a key race shows us that we are getting closer to the front of the fleet. The team keeps growing and learning."

The Lanzarote Calero Sailing Team carries out this project with the support of Turismo de Lanzarote and the Centros de Arte, Cultura y Turismo of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, alongside Calero Marinas and Calmar as strategic partners. The team also relies on EquipYacht and Alegra Travels for equipment and logistics, and on the technical backing of Harken, Gottifredi Maffioli, North Sails and Magic Marine, as well as the international support of Lanzarote Investment and John D. Wood & Co.

The 2025 season will conclude at Marina Jandía, Fuerteventura, from 19 to 23 November, the new marina of Calero Marinas, where the Spanish team expects to capitalise on its experience and aim for its best result of the year.
