Discover the Hylas M47 - The ultimate diesel outboard yacht for exhilarating adventures

by David Walters Yachts 20 Aug 2023 20:40 BST

Unique among a wide field of Downeast yachts, the Hylas M47 was developed in collaboration between Hylas Yachts, Dean Salthouse of Salthouse Next Generation Yachts, and the experience of David Walters Yachts.

Building upon the renowned hull form developed by the New Zealand designer, the M47 is a capable yacht well-suited for long-distance cruising. Pairing such a proven design with the benefits of twin Cox CXO 300 Diesel outboards, the M47 rides at a comfortable 17-knot cruise up on plane, sipping just 15.5 GPH. Drop the throttles back, and the yacht becomes a long-range cruiser capable of making 1,000 NM on a single tank of fuel. Put the hammer down, and she gallops at 31 knots.

Among the best features is the interior layout. Everything is on one level, from the helm to the aft cockpit lounge. This keeps everyone aboard socially connected and a part of the experience. The galley aft configuration, with an opening aft window and a large sliding door to the cockpit, is perfect for entertaining. Wrapping the interior is a single-pane window that offers nearly 360-degree views. The helm is perfectly elevated to provide excellent visibility at low speed and up on plane. In tight maneuvers, with the twin outboards, you can spin the yacht within its waterline. The M47 is an exceptionally easy yacht to run and manage. A hallmark of all Hylas Yachts.

The systems, installation quality, and maintenance ease are equally impressive. The M47 is intuitive and configured, so every maintenance item is easily accessed and serviced. A vital feature of a cruising yacht.
