NZ Sailcraft have stock Aeros available to purchase for a special discount from now until the end of February. With over 15 Aeros in New Zealand now is the time to get into the class and enjoy the coolest boat in town!

RS AERO The RS Aero is the product of three years of design and development. Four different hull variations and numerous rigs, foil and layout options were tested, resulting in the most technically advanced single-handed sailboat on the market.

The RS Aero completely re-sets the standard for excitement in a simple single-handed sailboat. Ultra-light weight means the carbon hull and rigs need not be extreme, making the RS Aero remarkably easy to handle on and off the water. As well as an all-carbon hull, the RS Aero has a carbon rig, beautiful foils, and a very modern sail-plan. The boat literally "lifts off" onto a car roof-rack, pulling it up the beach makes you smile, and simplicity means the boat can be rigged in minutes.

In 2019 the RS Aero won the evaluation for the selection of equipment for the 2024 Men's and Women's one person dinghy event. The full evaluation report can be read here.

The philosophy at RS Sailing has always been to prioritize ultra-light weight performance and practicality in order to produce a simple, yet refined and durable, single handed boat that will suit any sailor between 35 and 95kg. Astonishingly, the RS Aero hull weighs less than an Optimist at just 35kg, with three rig options which will typically suit:

Junior/youth - RS Aero 5 Women & light men - RS Aero 7 Men - RS Aero 9

RS Aero 5 This model is designed for children and small sailors and has 54 sq ft (5.0 m2) of sail.

RS Aero 7 This model is designed for medium weight sailors and has 77 sq ft (7.2 m2) of sail.

RS Aero 9 This model is designed for heavy weight sailors and has 93 sq ft (8.6 m2) of sail
