Day 2 proved a super critical day in terms of the overall leaderboard at the WA Moth State Championships. Session 1 of the day turned into a marginal race where most of the fleet were in low-riding mode for majority of the race. Max Puttman made the best of the conditions and took the win using a high lifter foil he was able to stay on the foils for the majority of the race taking it easily in the end.
After a long break in the middle of the day racing resumed once river space was acquired and the sea breeze settled in. A large crowd had built up on the hill at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht club and they were treated to some amazing racing. Proving the morning was no one-off Puttman again showed a clean pair of heels to win the first race of the afternoon session.
The final two races of the day were sailed in absolute glamour conditions, with plenty of passing lanes on the short four lap course, most of the boats had their moments, with the two new MACH2.4s both taking heat wins in the final two races of the day.
It has thrown the results wide open heading into day 3 with only 3pts separating the top three boats. It will be all to play for and with plenty of breeze forecast for Sunday it will be an epic way to finish a fantastic event!
