In November 2017 the bright and talented young sailor, Holly Monk, died very suddenly and unexpectedly. Holly was a member of Ullswater Yacht Club, had recently been accepted into the RYA Scotland Keelboat squad, raced regularly for the Cumbria Youth Sailing Team and competed in a wide range of open sailing events. Invincible, daring and brave, she inspired those around her by her love of life and her enthusiasm for sailing. Her death has left a huge whole in so many lives.

Holly knew the thrills and spills of sailing were something to be valued, and the collection at her funeral was for a charity she rated highly – the Andrew Simpson Foundation. Now a team of her friends are busy organizing further fundraising events to honour her memory, including entering a team in the Southport 24 Hour Race and organizing a raffle and Silent Auction.

The Silent Auction is being run via www.sail4holly.com and you can offer prizes or bid for items via that site. Please join in and help the team raise even more for this amazing charity, and to ensure that Holly's spirit lives on.
