Cambridge finished winners by 5 races to 1 in the 28th Windsurfing Varsity Match held at Grafham Water on Sunday 9 March 2014. Cambridge opened the scoring with three straight wins, but Oxford then struck back to take the fourth race. However, in spite of valiant efforts by the Oxford Captain, Myles Watkiss, Cambridge superiority told and they won the next two races to regain the Paul Cox Varsity Trophy from Oxford.
Conditions were perfect with a good wind and a warm sunny day. Both sides fielded an 'A' team and a 'B' team, with each team sailing three races – a shore start being used for all the races. The match was a very friendly and sporting affair – as befits the 'good and merry' world of windsurfing.
