RC Lasers continue sailing at Mudeford Sailing Club

Our second race day turned out to be much the same as the first - hardly any wind and very poor light, which made orientation difficult for old eyes (but didn't seem to affect the leaders in the same way). John Challener won again with 3 firsts, but was pushed hard this time by junior Jim Sowden who collected 2 firsts and a second out of the six races.

Some of us don't seem to have mastered the art of depth perception and there were times when four boats were rafted up in a heap after the wing mark and there were a number of missed marks and re-roundings.

After racing finished, we welcomed more full-size Laser sailors who wanted to try their hand at this frustrating, fun and very competitive sport. Thier grins say it all really!

Top 4 of 8:

1st John Challener
2nd Jim Sowden
3rd Phil Sowden
4th Team Tarrant

Course allows boats to be closer than normal and with more possible infringements The Race Team using the wind direction of SE and 8 knots speed set a narrow course with a wing mark to form the triangle for the triangle sausage format.
