Fog, no wind, postponement but still 10 races

Setting up the course was delayed for fog and no wind. Eventually a trickle from the west allowed a triangular course to be set.

Local weather stations were showing zero knots but for us the wind whilst light gave us less than 5 knots and from a variable direction. Tim Townsend (45) managed the start and found the best of the wind to lodge three wins. Spencer Pope (62) had a very prosperous three and was in second overall at the break. Behind them there was all sorts of carnage and opportunities to catch up and loose places! These were the only races in the first hour and with a total fall out of the wind a break hoped for more wind.

During the break the wind switched to the north so a change of course. More wacky races and wind changes gave wins for Jamie Blair (51), Spencer, Jon Moon (84) and Tony Alexander (04).

Tim continued his winning streak to win overall by 9 points. Second was Jamie and third after countback as far as 3rd place was Spencer. Tony 4th.

Let's hope for more wind next Sunday 9th of March.

Shifty beats for six skippers Six out to compete in round 7 with SSE 6 to 10 knots. This wind provided a great course in front of the car park and café. The rain didn't deter but with the changing clouds overhead the wind direction had us all guessing which side paid up the beats. Posted on 1 Feb
