Frostbite Series at Alton Water Sailing Centre Overall

The 400 acre site that is Alton Water Sports Centre near Ipswich hosted its annual Frostbite series from January to March comprising a 9 race series. The event attracted 118 entries and was a mainly windy affair with fleet starts.

The Laser fleet were well represented with 19 entries and was hotly contested with Tom Branton of Waldringfield taking the honours as well as 7th overall in the series.

The Slow Handicap fleet was dominated by the Waldringfield Cadet of Tim & Chalie Linsell who were never troubled.

The Fast & Medium fleets filled the top of the overall classification with Alan Krailing & Edd Mcardle in a Lark taking the Medium honours from Harry Pynn & Clare Gosling also in a Lark who were 2nd & 3rd respectiveley in the overall standings.

The Fast Fleet was headed by Paul Ross in his Contender followed by the Javelin of Gavin Johnson and Matt Toone closely followed by David Rhodes in his Blaze.

Paul Ross took overall honours in the series and a special award went to Rheanna Pavey for the highest placed Topper to finish all 9 races.

Many thanks need to go to all the staff at Alton Water for a well run series in a fantastic setting.

Alton Water Frostbite Series Day 4
A comparatively toasty day compared to previous This Sunday resumed the action where it was left off from our second day a couple of weeks ago. Cadets at Alton Water Frostbite Series week 8
Well done to Rhona and Sophie for holding their lead throughout the series To make up for the lost races the last race day consisted of three back-to-back races.
