Squib Class Early Series at Ballyholme Yacht Club Overall

by Jim Coffey 28 Jun 2001 12:29 BST

What a series! The Bangor fleet has enjoyed very close racing over the last 9 weeks and the series has been won by John Bell and Shaun Doran sailing Yee Haa (145) after a series long tussel with Jim Coffey and John Hunter in Fox (738). Nigel Hamilton in Contender (70) made a late charge to finish 3rd just 3 points behind Coffey and Hunter. Going into the last race Bell and Coffey were level on points and Bell & Doran settle the issue by convincingly winning the last race to finish 3 points in the lead.

The class continues to grow and we expect 2 new owners to be joining us in early July and possibly for the Bangor Week event in Mid July.

Well Done John & Shaun.
