Nacra Cup València 2026 Overall

by Pep Portas / RCNV 24 Oct 18:14 BST 21-24 October 2026

Argentina's Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco have won the Nacra València Cup, held in the waters off València since Wednesday, 21 October, and organised by the Real Club Náutico de Valencia.

The Argentine team finished the regatta with 27 points, one ahead of Sweden's Emil Järudd and Hanna Jonsson, who took second place with 28. New Zealand's Micah Wilkinson and Kate Stewart completed the podium in third place with 51 points.

The complete absence of wind prevented the final race scheduled for Saturday from being sailed. With no start possible throughout the final day, the race committee confirmed the final standings based on the ten races completed out of the eleven originally scheduled.

The decision to add a fourth race to Friday's programme, one more than the three initially scheduled, was made in response to the forecast of very unfavourable wind conditions for Saturday, which ultimately proved accurate. This additional race allowed the fleet to complete ten races and the competition to be concluded without any further racing on the final day.

Majdalani-Bosco strengthened their title challenge during Friday's penultimate day, sailed in wind and sea conditions that, on paper, favoured the Argentine team. Their scoreline of 3-1-1-3, including back-to-back race wins in races eight and nine, enabled them to regain the lead in the provisional standings.

Järudd-Jonsson, meanwhile, recorded a 2-3-5-5 scoreline across Friday's four races. Two consecutive fifth-place finishes brought their day to a close and cost them the lead, although they remained just one point behind the Argentinians. With no racing possible on the final day, Majdalani-Bosco's victory was confirmed, with Järudd-Jonsson taking second place.

The battle for third place was also settled, with Wilkinson-Stewart securing the final podium spot on 51 points, ahead of Sweden's Ida Svensson and Marcus Dackhammar, who finished fourth with 56. The five-point gap between the two teams had kept the fight for the bronze medal open until the final stages of the regatta.

Wilkinson-Stewart recorded a 1-15-3-12 scoreline during the penultimate day, with their 15th-place finish in race eight discarded. Svensson-Dackhammar, meanwhile, posted 5-10-10-4, their fourth-place finish in the final race sailed keeping the pressure on the New Zealanders.

Among the Spanish competitors, the Catalan team of Dani and Nora García de la Casa, representing Club Nàutic El Masnou, finished in 11th place with 87 points, just one point behind Australians Ruben and Rita Booth, who secured 10th place with 86. The Spanish siblings narrowly missed out on a place in the top ten after recording 10-13-13-6 in Friday's four races. The cancellation of the final race left them with no opportunity to improve their position in the final standings.

The Nacra València Cup concludes in the waters off València after ten of the eleven scheduled races were completed. Majdalani-Bosco take the title, followed by Järudd-Jonsson in second place and Wilkinson-Stewart in third, bringing this international Olympic sailing event organised by the Real Club Náutico de Valencia to a close.
