CST member Ryan Anderson to sail between Peggy's Cove to Halifax to raise money for CAN Fund

Canadian Sailing Team member Ryan Anderson will sail from Peggy's Cove to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Friday, September 18, to raise money for CAN Fund. He will be sailing the ILCA 7, a 13-foot one-man boat which is raced at the Olympic Games.
The day of his 25th birthday, Ryan Anderson will leave Peggy's Cove at 10am for this uncommon 25 nautical mile trip in his ILCA 7, which is usually raced close to shore. He is expected to arrive at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron in Halifax between 2 and 3pm.
This initiative from Ryan Anderson, one of the 2026 CAN Fund recipient, aims to raise money for this organization. Through donations, CAN Fund supports Canadian amateur athletes who are eligible to receive up to $16,000 a year to contribute to their campaigns.
Ryan's goal is to raise $2,500 and, since it will also be his 25th birthday, he is seeking donations of any amount with 25 in it. Donors are invited to give online here.
"I am raising money for CAN Fund because they rally behind thousands of Canadian athletes and help offset the financial burden of high-performance sport", said Ryan Anderson. "Each donation ensures more Canadian athletes can receive the backing required to reach the highest level. Donors find out the name of the athlete they are supporting on their way to be the best in the world and receive a tax receipt."
