XOD Captain's Cup at North Sails Cowes Week 2026 - Day 6

After an impromptu lay day due to breezy weather, the X boats started again from the RYS this time in a very shifty and puffy, north westerly across a flood tide the first mark SCRA.org was just to the west of Calshot.

After a general recall flag U was raised and that modified start plans. Boats starting on the ODM end appeared to do well, as did boats sailing along the beach, with a huge separation in the fleet.

Mayfly from the left and Astralita from the right, followed by Gleam, which established a good lead after a difficult run to Ben F Wood and beat to Jane, only to sail past the mark.

Astralita appeared to take the win, only to have fallen foul of the U Flag. This gave the win to Liz Whizz, followed by Lone Star and Swallow. As a result Lone Star has won the Captain's Cup with a day to spare. Congratulations to Nik Froud, Phil Lawrence and Spike King on a very well sailed and consistent regatta!
