Nacra 15 World Championship 2026 at Plymouth, UK - Day 4

The racing at the Nacra 15 World Championship really intensified on day 4, as the Italian team ITA 228 cemented their position at the top of the leaderboard.
Five more gruelling races from RO David Rollinson in a shifty breeze that fluctuated from north west to south west meant that there were plenty of snakes and ladders on the track, but the European teams are showing a high level of skill in mastering the conditions. A suboptimal day for Alessandro Vargiu and Noa Lisci means their chances of winning are likely diminished, but they have a comfortable lead over the French in third.
The Nacra 15 continues to show its versatility in the sailors that can sail it, with James Oakley from GBR 074 (one of our youngest competitors at 12 years old saying "It was quite breezy for us as we're a light crew so we had a bit of a swim!". Henri Bellanger AUS016 commented "we were very pleased to round the top mark first in one race. Very shifty breeze early in the day made it very tricky racing!"
A final 2 races are planned on Saturday, and the wind gods have so far played ball, meaning we are hoping to get the full compliment of 17 races in.
