Oyster Yachts unveils the new Oyster 515

by Oyster Yachts 13 Jul 14:57 BST

Oyster Yachts, the iconic British builder of the world's finest luxury bluewater sailing yachts, has unveiled the Oyster 515, the next generation of its 50 foot range.

Drawing on the award-winning qualities that made the Oyster 495 a benchmark in her class, the new Oyster 515 combines increased sail area with greater volume, more contemporary styling, and a completely reimagined deck that transforms life on board. Shaped by owner experience and millions of bluewater miles they've sailed, the launch marks a significant milestone for Oyster, further strengthening its reputation as a global leader in luxury ocean exploration and personalised yacht ownership

Designed in collaboration with Humphreys Yacht Design and Oyster's in-house Design Studio, the most significant evolution of the Oyster 515 can be found in the aft section of the yacht. A completely redesigned, beach club inspired deck space creates a new dimension to life on board, combining aft-facing seating, a sunken lounge and a larger superyacht-inspired fold-down bathing platform. Designed for relaxing, entertaining, and swimming at anchor, the new aft deck creates a true living space at the water's edge. Increased lazarette stowage and intelligent use of space accommodate water toys and cruising equipment, while the choice of an integrated tender garage or conventional davits allows owners to configure the yacht according to how they intend to sail and explore.

Below deck, increased volume supports long voyages at sea. Enlarged Seascape windows, a hallmark design element for Oyster, fill the interior with natural light, while the signature Deck Saloon and full- beam aft owner's stateroom offer comfort and practicality. A three-cabin layout delivers the space and seclusion normally expected of a much larger yacht.

Under sail, she remains every inch an Oyster. A revised sail plan, increased sail area, twin rudders and powered sail-handling systems deliver responsive handling that's reassuringly manageable for a couple or family, with or without additional crew. New wing seats beside the helm stations provide the ultimate vantage point, and the optional shoal keel draft opens up shallower and more remote cruising locations that deeper draft yachts cannot access. Every detail reflects Oyster's commitment to safety, durability and confidence on the water.

Perfectly suited to Mediterranean cruising yet equipped to take owners anywhere in the world, the Oyster 515 delivers greater space, controlled handling and versatility while remaining unmistakably Oyster.

Stefan Zimmermann Zschocke, CEO of Oyster Yachts, said: "The Oyster 515 builds on the success of the Oyster 495 and everything we have learned from more than 50 years of designing, building and supporting yachts for bluewater sailing. We have evolved her around how owners want to sail and live today, combining true ocean-going capability with a completely reimagined aft deck, a closer connection to the water and a state-of-the-art beach club experience unlike anything else currently available in this class. It is a purposeful evolution of our 50 foot platform and a clear expression of our commitment to continuous product development and meaningful innovation. The Oyster 515 marks the beginning of the next generation of Oyster bluewater sailing and the Oyster ownership experience, and is the first step in an exciting programme of product and innovation launches that will unfold over the coming months."

Alongside the launch of the Oyster 515, the announcement follows a period of strong momentum for Oyster Yachts:

  • Earlier this year, Oyster Brokerage completed the sale of two Oyster 885s in a single week, reflecting continued demand for the brand's flagship bluewater yachts.
  • Continued investment in Oyster's Global Service Network includes the acquisition of a dedicated dock at its Barcelona Service Centre, strengthening support for owners across the Mediterranean.
  • This September, owners from around the world will gather in Palma de Mallorca for Oyster's landmark 50th Regatta, celebrating five decades of adventure, exploration and community.
  • The Oyster World Rally 2026-27 is currently crossing the South Pacific, while strong demand for the 2030-31 edition reflects the enduring appeal of supported bluewater adventure.
