Families and their talented kids shone brightly at the Gran Canaria GLORIA Windsurf World Cup 2026.

Day 4 at the Home of the Wind belonged to the U18 boys, and it was Javier Escribano Toribio who rose above a stacked final to be crowned champion at the Gran Canaria GLORIA Windsurf World Cup 2026.

In a high quality final at Pozo Izquierdo, the young Spaniard sailed with maturity beyond his years to post a superb 14.66, holding off a determined international field. Ryoma Sugi (JPN) pushed him all the way for second with 12.55, Bjørn Olesen (DEN) claimed third on 10.86, and Peter Gobisch (GER) rounded out the finalists in fourth with 7.53.

It was a fitting reward for Escribano, who has been one of the busiest riders of the week - testing himself in the men's Challenger rounds as well as his own age group. His victory caps a special run of junior competition at Pozo, where family names, national flags and future stars have lit up the bay day after day.

Congratulations to all four finalists, and to every U18 rider who took part. The next generation continues to prove that the future of wave windsurfing is in extraordinary hands.

The juniors have set the stage. Now the pros bring the storm.

U18 Boys Final:

    1. Javier Escribano Toribio (ESP) - 14.66 - Champion
    2. Ryoma Sugi (JPN) - 12.55
    3. Bjørn Olesen (DEN) - 10.86
    4. Peter Gobisch (GER) - 7.53
