The BIA joined more than 30 leading Australian business groups and industry associations last week to call upon all MPs and Senators to reject the federal government's proposed changes to capital gains tax.
A joint letter to MPs and Senators warned the changes would deter investment in businesses and weaken economic activity in communities across the country. The scale of support for the letter reflected deep and widespread concern across the business community.

The Australia Tahiti Rendezvous, one of the superyacht industry's most enduring Pacific traditions, has delivered its most successful edition to date. Held 25-26 June at Papeete, Tahiti, this year's event welcomed more than 150 visiting crew members, a record attendance reflecting the remarkable concentration of very large vessels currently berthed in these waters.
