The countdown is entering its final phase for the Tre Golfi Sailing Week 2026, with less than one week to go until the ORC World Championship and three to the IMA Maxi European Championship, as Naples and Sorrento prepare to welcome one of the most significant gatherings of international sailing this season.

The event, organized by the Circolo del Remo e della Vela Italia, in collaboration with the Yacht Club Italiano and the Reale Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia, and in conjunction with the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) and the International Maxi Association (IMA), supported by Rolex and Loro Piana confirms once again its role as a key reference point on the Mediterranean racing calendar.

Following a record-breaking edition, the 2026 Tre Golfi Sailing Week has already reached an historic milestone with 211 entries across the ORC, Maxi and Multihull fleets. Within this, the ORC World Championship fleet has exceeded 110 boats, representing a truly global fleet, while 36 Maxi and Multihull yachts, among the most competitive on the international circuit, will line up for the IMA Maxi European Championship and the Multihull Trophy.

The ORC World Championship (5-14 May), opening the event, will bring together a large and highly competitive fleet, combining technical inshore racing with the offshore challenge of the 71st Regata dei Tre Golfi, a format that continues to define modern offshore racing at the highest level.

Please note that the start of the offshore Regata dei Tre Golfi for the ORC fleet, both World Championship competitors and entries participating in the offshore race only, might be subject to changes, due to the visit of Pope Leo to Naples on 8 May, which will involve extensive restrictions across the city and the Gulf.

"The ORC World Championship at Tre Golfi Sailing Week represents exactly what our sport stands for today: strong international participation, a balanced and competitive fleet, and a race format that rewards both offshore experience and inshore precision," said Bruno Finzi, President of the Offshore Racing Congress. "The Gulf of Naples offers a unique and technically demanding race area, making this championship particularly meaningful for all competitors."

Attention will then shift to the IMA Maxi European Championship (21-28 May), featuring an outstanding Maxi fleet across multiple divisions, including Maxi Class 1, Maxi Grand Prix and Classes 2 and 3. The program will include the Tre Golfi offshore race (22 May), serving as the long-distance leg of the championship, followed by a series of high-intensity inshore races in Sorrento from 25 to 28 May, where titles will be decided across the individual classes.

"Tre Golfi Sailing Week has become a key event for the international Maxi fleet," commented Andrew McIrvine, Secretary General of the International Maxi Association. "The combination of a challenging offshore race and competitive inshore racing, together with the quality of organisation and the setting, continues to attract a strong and diverse Maxi fleet year after year."

The presence of six Maxi Multihulls further enhances the spectacle, underlining the event's continued evolution towards embracing the most advanced and high-performance segments of offshore sailing.

"The approach of these key events is always a moment of great anticipation," said Roberto Mottola di Amato, President of the Circolo del Remo e della Vela Italia. "The response from owners and teams has been exceptional, both in numbers and in quality, and we are ready to deliver an edition that reflects the international standing of the Tre Golfi Sailing Week."

Beyond the racing, the event will once again be defined by its distinctive combination of sporting excellence and hospitality, set against the unique backdrop of the Gulf of Naples and the Sorrento Peninsula.

With final preparations now under way, Tre Golfi Sailing Week 2026 is set to confirm its position among the leading events in the global sailing calendar.
