Tre Golfi Sailing Week 2026 sets historic entry record with 211 yachts

by Tre Golfi Sailing Week 2 Apr 14:04 BST 4-28 May 2026

Tre Golfi Sailing Week 2026 has reached a historic milestone, setting a new all-time participation record with 211 yachts entered across the ORC, Maxi and Multihull fleets.

Entries have now officially closed for the Maxi Yacht and Multihull regattas, scheduled from 21-28 May, with 36 yachts confirmed for one of the Mediterranean's most prestigious sailing events.

Organized by the Circolo del Remo e della Vela Italia, in collaboration with the Yacht Club Italiano and with the fundamental support of the Reale Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia, the event continues to strengthen its position as a key fixture on the international offshore and maxi racing calendar.

The response from owners has once again been immediate and exceptionally strong, with a fleet representing the very highest level of international yacht racing. The entry cap was reached rapidly, underlining both the technical prestige of the competition and the enduring appeal of racing in the spectacular waters of the Gulf of Naples.

"The fact that entries closed well in advance, and with a fleet of this size and quality, is a source of great satisfaction for us", said Roberto Mottola di Amato, President of the Circolo del Remo e della Vela Italia.

"We sincerely thank the owners for their trust and their continued, passionate participation. At the same time, we are already working on an exciting program for next year, when Naples will host the 38th America's Cup, and the Club will organise a series of regattas and events for some of the most iconic sailing classes".

A fleet of exceptional quality

The Maxi fleet entered for the IMA Maxi European Championship is strongly represented across the principal IMA divisions, with an even split between Maxi Class 1 / Maxi Grand Prix and Classes 2 and 3.

A major development for 2026 is the introduction of the European Champion title for each individual class winner, adding further competitive significance to what promises to be an intensely fought championship week.

Among the headline entries, the Wally100 division welcomes the return of Galateia, V, and Tilakkhana II, joined this year by Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones' Magic Carpet E and the formidable Leopard 3.

Built by McConaghy Boats to a Farr Yacht Design concept, the 30-meter (100-foot) Leopard 3 is one of the most recognizable maxi yachts on the circuit, renowned for multiple Line Honours victories at both the Rolex Middle Sea Race and the Rolex Fastnet Race.

Equally impressive is the presence of six Grand Prix yachts - the former Mini Maxi 72s - including reigning World Champion Django 7X, together with recent Maxi European champion Bella Mente, plus Jethou, Jolt, North Star, and Proteus.

The Maxi Multihull fleet is also confirmed, with six entries bringing an additional dimension of speed, spectacle and innovation to the regatta, further reinforcing Tre Golfi Sailing Week's evolution towards the most advanced and high-performance expressions of offshore sailing.

A cornerstone of Tre Golfi Sailing Week

The Maxi and Multihull program will include the iconic 71st Regata dei Tre Golfi, starting on Friday 22 May, which will serve as the offshore scoring race for both the IMA Maxi European Championship and the Multihull Trophy.

The action then moves to Sorrento from 25-28 May, where the fleets will contest a series of highly technical inshore races.

Hospitality and world-class partners

Beyond the racing itself, Tre Golfi Sailing Week continues to be recognized for its outstanding hospitality and onshore experience, key elements that have long contributed to its international reputation.

The event is supported by leading partners including Rolex and Loro Piana, alongside North Sails, Deloitte, Ferrarelle, Ottogas, Garmin, Schenker, and Caffè Borbone.

Tre Golfi Sailing Week is held under the patronage of the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV) and IMA, with the support of the Campania Region and the municipalities of Naples, Sorrento, Piano di Sorrento, Sant'Agnello, and Vico Equense.
