The magnificent Lake Moisson Lavacourt, located west of Paris, hosted the 2.4mR French Open from 6 to 8 March 2026, organised by the French 2.4mR class: France 2.4mR Class Association.

This regatta is the first major international event of the season.

Thirty-six boats came from 11 countries: Germany, Ireland, England, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Hong Kong, Belgium, Switzerland, Holland and France.

All the sailors were accommodated on site at the magnificent sailing centre.

A large stable anticyclone settled over France during the week. The mornings were calm and windless, and in the afternoons, when the sun came out, a light breeze picked up. Four races were held: one on Friday in very light winds, then three on Saturday. The lack of wind on Sunday meant that no sailing was possible.

The most consistent in the very light wind, Megan Pascoe, double world champion, won the event ahead of France's Thibault Vandrot by a narrow margin. Germany's Martin Koller took third place. Switzerland's Urs Infanger, who led after the first race, was unable to hold on to his position on Saturday and finished sixth.

Thirty-six boats were classified with very efficient semi-direct refereeing on the water.

The 2.4mR French Open is the first regatta on the European '2.4mR Action4Europe' circuit.

Next event: 2.4mR European Easter Egg.
