The Half Ton Class Europe and the Half Ton Class Norway are delighted and proud to announce that the number of registered entries for the 2026 Seldén Half Ton Classics Cup now exceeds the initial target of 40 half tonner teams.
Five months prior to the start of the first regatta 41 half tonners have now registered for the event that will mark the sailing season. The Seldén Half Ton Classics Cup, which will be held in Hankø from 1-7 August 2026, will be the main sailing event of 2026 in Norway. More entries from mainly European teams are expected.
With teams from Norway (28), Sweden (4), Ireland (1), France (2), Belgium (4), England (1) and the United States (1), the 2026 event reflects the international character of the half tonner Class.
The half tonner fleet consists of 'Modern' (quite modified) and Vintage (relatively unmodified) boats. While all boats will sail for the Half Ton Classics Trophy, the vintage fleet will have their own ranking and prizes. More trophies will be awarded to Corinthian teams, Series half tonners and crews with more female than male sailors.
Nevertheless the most coveted trophy remains the Half Ton True Spirit Trophy, awarded by the sailors themselves to a team that most embodies the true half ton spirit.
