The first day of the Comunitat Valenciana Youth Olympic Week at RCN Valencia ended without any racing. As expected, strong winds along the Valencian coast kept the fleet ashore.
- The weather forecast proved accurate this Thursday. Winds gusting over 30 knots forced the fleet to remain ashore for the entire day. At 3:10 p.m., the race committee decided to call off the day without holding any races
- For the second day, when the ILCA 4s make their debut at 1:00 p.m., the start time for the 29ers has been brought forward. The first race is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m., although the committee will assess the weather conditions before continuing with the day's programme
Despite the committee's hopes of getting some action on the water, conditions proved too severe. Around 11 a.m., race officials ventured out to the regatta area to take measurements and assess the situation. Gusts exceeded 30 knots, making it impossible to launch the boats safely.
At around 3:10 p.m., the committee raised the "Intelligence" flag over A, bringing the day to a close—a day marked by strong winds that left the fleet ashore, unable to complete a single race.
For the second day, given the very challenging conditions, the committee intends to start the first race early. If possible, the competition will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The ILCA 4 fleet will make its debut tomorrow, with the warning signal set for 1 p.m., weather permitting.
