From 17 January to 11 February, Marina Rubicón will host the ILCA U21 World Championships, the Lanzarote International Regatta and the Lanzarote iQFOiL Games.
Lanzarote will once again become one of the world's key winter sailing hubs as Marina Rubicón launches its 2026 international sailing season, featuring three high-level events firmly embedded in the Olympic calendar.
The programme opens with the ILCA Under 21 World Championships (17-24 January), bringing together the world's leading young sailors in one of the sport's core Olympic classes.
This will be followed by the Lanzarote International Regatta (30 January - 5 February), now in its sixth edition and a World Sailing 50-point event, with racing across several Olympic classes including ILCA 6, ILCA 7, 49er, 470 and Nacra 17, alongside the Snipe class. The event takes place during the second year of the Olympic cycle towards Los Angeles 2028, making it a key reference point for international teams.
The season concludes with the Lanzarote iQFOiL Games (6-11 February), showcasing one of the fastest-growing and most innovative Olympic disciplines.
Across the winter period, more than 900 sailors from 47 countries are expected to compete and train in Lanzarote, drawn by its reliable trade winds, mild temperatures and the world-class facilities of Marina Rubicón, which has become a permanent training base for many national teams.
Marina Rubicón CEO Rafael Lasso Lorenzo highlighted that "Lanzarote has established itself as one of the main international Olympic sailing centres during the winter, offering outstanding conditions for both training and competition, and serving as an inspiration for young local sailors."
