The Musto Skiff class will be returning to France for the ACO Musto Skiff World Championship over 6 - 12 June 2026. This international sailing regatta is the most prestigious event in the class calendar and will be hosted by Yacht Club De Carnac (YCC), which is in a popular sailing location described by many as one of the most beautiful nautical bases in Europe.

The regatta hosts last welcomed the international fleet at Carnac for a Worlds in 2016, which was won by German sailor Andi Lachenschmid. The current title holder is now South African sailor, Andy Tarboton, who won the 2025 Worlds title in Sydney, Australia earlier this year.

Around 70 Musto Skiffs are expected for the World Championship next June, which typically includes representation for several nations across Europe, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and the USA.

Commenting on the return of the Musto Skiffs, Yacht Club De Carnac President, Laurent Etheimer said: "YCC has extensive experience in organising world-class sailing events, with a strong focus on sport, social programmes, and sustainability. Carnac is a very attractive location for sailing and tourism with a wide variety of attractions and accommodation. The team is fully committed to delivering a successful and memorable championship for all participants. We look forward to working closely with the Musto Skiff class to host an outstanding event that upholds the high standards of the Class."

Musto Skiff Class International Chairman, Brennan Robinson said: "We, as a class, are ecstatic at the prospect of returning to Yacht Club De Carnac in 2026. With the help of our fantastic long-standing partners, ACO and Musto, it is sure to be another fantastic championship. The international fleet always provides some incredible competition across the board, and Carnac is a truly stunning location for a sailing regatta. It's a privilege to be able to sail competitively at this great venue and then socialise with friends and fellow competitors from all over the world."

Five days of championship racing

The planned event schedule for the Musto Skiff 2026 Worlds will include a Pre-Worlds on the 7th of June, followed immediately by five days of World Championship racing over 8th to 12th June. This will include up to 14 races. Several after-sailing activities are also being planned at the club for the competitors, including some organised evening socials and a Gala Dinner.

For the 2026 World Championship, the class is also proud to be partnering with ACO, a global market leader in drainage technology. ACO will once again be the Event Title sponsor, continuing their long-term support of the annual regatta. Other event supporters include boat builder, Ovington Boats, and the Class Title sponsor, Musto, who will provide a range of merchandise for prizes, as well as an exclusive Musto regatta t-shirt for all entrants.

Plenty to race for at a Musto Skiff Worlds

Whilst the competition at the top of the fleet is always close, with many familiar faces often battling it out for a top ten place, competitors are typically split into Gold and Silver fleets, increasing the chance to win accolades and prizes during the regatta.

Following the introduction of the new small Mainsail X in 2024, the fleet demographic has also widened with more youth and female sailors joining the class to compete in the major regattas. If the top youths make a return for Carnac, this category is going to be fiercely contended, as it was last season.

To encourage more youth sailors and make the regatta more accessible, the class will once again provide a 50% discount on all youth entries. There will also be a category award added for the top small Mainsail X sailor, and top female sailor.

How to enter the Musto Skiff 2026 Worlds

The standard entry fee will be EUR 500, with entries received before 30th April 2026 available at EUR 480. The 50% discount for youths (aged 25 or under on 1st of January 2026) is available until the entry closes. Full details can be found in the NOR.

Entry for the ACO Musto Skiff World Championship 2026 is open from 12th December 2025. The NOR and registration is available on the Yacht Club De Carnac (YCC) website at www.yccarnac.com/regates-morbihan/world-championship-aco-musto-skiff-2026
