2025 GL52 Macatawa Challenge - Day 1

The first three races of the GL52 Macatawa Challenge 2025 were sailed in a building breeze delivering 12 knots steady by Race 3.
Laura & Bob Hughes' HEARTBREAKER (1,5,2) set the pace with a win in Race 1; Race 2 belonged to John Huhn's KATANA (3,1,4) and Peter Askew's WIZARD (4,3,1) sailed away smiling after winning Race 3. These three are now locked in a 3-way tie at the top of the regatta leaderboard with 8 points each.
Macatawa Challenge 2025 scores are posted here. The outcome of this regatta will also determine the overall season champion of the GL52 Great Lakes Series 2025. With two titles at stake, we anticipate close racing throughout the weekend as is typical of this highly competitive fleet-- stay tuned!
