Leading Italian shipbuilder MED Group has previewed the first in its new line of high-performance TYKUN chase boats, ahead of its hotly anticipated debut at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show. Measuring 10.5 metres and taking shape on the drawing boards of renowned Italian architect Tommaso Spadolini, the TYKUN X chase boat combines sleek and dynamic aesthetics with cutting-edge, military-inspired technology.

Military-Grade Performance, Safety and Comfort

When it comes to performance, TYKUN X leaves nothing to be desired. Its robust aluminium hull, engineered with advanced stability calculations, delivers speeds exceeding 50 knots, while ensuring a smooth, safe and comfortable ride in a wide range of sea conditions.

Built to the highest standards of safety and reliability, the vessel draws directly from MED Group's defence-sector expertise. Complementing this is a striking carbon-fiber hard-top that not only provides lightweight structural protection but also elevates the vessel's silhouette with contemporary elegance.

A Heritage of Innovation

The TYKUN line benefits from the proven capabilities of MED DEFENSE, MED Group's specialist division supplying rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) to law enforcement and public security agencies. Leveraging this pedigree, TYKUN models are developed on fully certified, ergonomic platforms, including NATO-qualified and EC-approved PRO RIBs, bringing advanced, field-tested engineering into the luxury chase boat segment.

Custom Craftsmanship and Smart Design

True to MED Group's reputation for custom craftsmanship and thanks to its aluminium construction, TYKUN X offers extensive personalisation options, from layout configurations to materials, colour palettes and electronics, ensuring each vessel precisely meets the owner's desires and delivers a level of flexibility rarely seen in conventional designs.

A standout design feature is the spacious lateral terrace, crafted to enhance guests' connection with the sea while enhancing comfort onboard.

"With TYKUN X, we wanted to create a chase boat that delivers performance and practicality without compromising on design sophistication," says architect Tommaso Spadolini. "The lateral terrace is just one of several smart features we've incorporated to enhance the onboard experience. It was a pleasure to design this vessel, and we can't wait for attendees at MYS to step aboard and experience it for themselves."

For those keen to get their pulses racing on the water, the optimised use of space on board also allows for ample storage for water toys, including SUPs, SeaBobs, water skis and much more.

Strategic Vision and Market Debut

Marco Galimberti, MED Group CEO, comments: "After years of painstaking development and refinement, it is the perfect time to unveil our 10.5-metre chase boat. With the Monaco Yacht Show on the horizon, we anticipate a great deal of interest from clients in the know, thanks to TYKUN X's unique combination of the power and grit of a military vessel with the style and comfort found in superyacht tenders."

Benedetta Iovane, also well known as The Luxury Yacht Lady, Strategic Advisor for TYKUN, adds: "As well as its striking looks and incredible performance capabilities, there is a combination of smart features on offer which make the TYKUN X superyacht tender a truly distintictive proposition on the market and the ideal companion to many of the industry's larger vessels. This includes the ease of maneuverability and safe docking to the mothership."

The TYKUN X sets a new benchmark in the superyacht chase boat sector, seamlessly blending military-grade performance with sophisticated design and is poised to captivate audiences at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025 (Stand QA34).
