Cantieri di Pisa set for the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025

by Cantieri di Pisa 4 Sep 10:30 BST 9-14 September 2025

This is the second Cannes Yachting Festival for the new owners of Cantieri di Pisa, which since 2021, under the leadership of CEO Marco Massabò, has refurbished and expanded the shipyard's headquarters, developed the new range consisting of three lines - Polaris, Saturno and Akhir - commenced construction of a 40-metre full custom yacht and, in 2025, completed over 30 refit projects on yachts totalling over 1,500 metres in length.

In a confirmation of the company's good health, Cantieri di Pisa is taking part for the second year running in the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 9 to 14. At a large stand with a private terrace in the Vieux Port, the shipyard founded in 1945 will exhibit scale models of its range comprising the Polaris, Saturno and Akhir lines, designed under the supervision of the yard's chief designer Antonio Luxardo and in collaboration with leading interior design firms including m2atelier, Parisotto + Formenton, and Pulina Design Interiors. Polaris is the range of highly versatile voyager yachts from 38 to 60 metres, Saturno is made up of models from 38 to 90 metres featuring the shipyard's legacy stylistic hallmarks (black and white lines on the hull sides, generous "ribbon" windows and a traditionally designed stern) re-imagined through a contemporary lens, and Akhir is the range that reprises the Shipyard's most iconic line, consisting of a new generation of fast, light motoryachts designed to reflect the brand's DNA and tradition.

In addition to a significant expansion of the shipyard's facilities, and in parallel with the design of new models, the company's other divisions are also reporting excellent performance: the Custom segment has sold and started construction work on a 40-metre superyacht with a gross tonnage under 500 GT. The design is by Antonio Luxardo, and the engineering is by Studio Sa.Ma.Re Design. The boat offers six cabins for guests (an owner suite on the Main Deck with private terrace, four guest cabins and a VIP cabin on the Lower Deck), who are supported by a crew of eight. With state-of-the-art entertainment systems, sofas, sun loungers and a Jacuzzi, the yacht is also suitable for chartering and ideal for cruises anywhere in the world. The hull is made of steel and the superstructure of aluminium and composite materials formed using vacuum technology.

Also worthy of note, under Massabò's and Refit Manager Umberto Nannola, the refit division is growing in terms of both turnover, which increased five-fold in 2024 compared to the previous year, and of dedicated surface areas, which now cover 24,000 square metres and feature a 300-tonne travel lift and a 670-tonne waterlift. Massabò and his team manage a staff of 20 direct employees, who will soon be joined by a dozen or so professionals, and a supply chain comprising between 200 and 300 people. Another upgrade is also planned for this division, involving the creation of a yard and an area with apartments for crew, but most importantly the vertical extension and refurbishment of an existing 200-metre-long industrial shed, covering a total area of 3,400 square metres with two independent exits for employees. In 2025, over 30 yachts have been launched totalling over 1,500 metres in length.
