The BIA, with support from Transport for NSW, was excited to announce the soft launch of the new Responsible Boat Owner (RBO) campaign, a national initiative focused on promoting a culture of safer boating.

The campaign has kicked off with a series of briefings to key stakeholders across the country. The first of these presentations was held for the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) Victorian Regional Safety Committee yesterday, where BIA outlined the critical need and value of the RBO campaign in ensuring a safe and enjoyable boating experience for everyone.

Over the coming weeks, BIA will continue these important conversations, with five more briefings scheduled for AMSA committees, along with recreational boating safety and education regulators.

The RBO campaign aims to help boaters make informed decisions when buying a boat, how to store it and the need to maintain it. The work of the BIA Broker Accreditation program feeds directly into this project, as does our collaboration with the Australasian Institute of Marine Surveyors.
