Balance 750 launches in Cape Town: A new era of luxury performance sailing

by Balance Catamarans 26 Jul 08:26 BST

The Balance 750 has officially launched, marking a bold new chapter in luxury performance catamaran sailing. As the new flagship of Balance Catamarans, the 750 pushes the boundaries of what's possible at sea by uniting raw sailing power with elevated design and comfort.

"With this launch, we've fully executed on our vision of handcrafting cutting-edge catamarans from 46- to- 75 feet whose exciting high performance is purposefully coupled with unrivaled luxury, quality, and comfort," said Phil Berman, founder and president of Balance Catamarans.

Designed for sailors who demand more from their vessels — speed, style, and space, the 750 is unlike any catamaran in her class. She boasts dual bulkhead helms, a forward working cockpit, and a powerful carbon rig designed to cross oceans swiftly and safely. But what truly sets her apart is how seamlessly she merges the performance characteristics of a racing catamaran with the spaciousness and sophistication typically reserved for luxury motor yachts.

Built for Those Who Sail Far and Expect More

Every inch of the Balance 750 was designed with intention. From her carbon-reinforced foam core hulls and structure to her lightweight, handmade furniture finished in real wood veneers, the 750 exemplifies Balance's uncompromising approach to craftsmanship. Launching at just over 30,000 kilograms, she is among the lightest — and fastest — catamarans of her size.

"Hull No. 1's interior was designed by the U.K.-based Design Unlimited to bring a level of sophistication the likes of which are usually only found on custom SuperYachts," said Balance GM Mark Delany. "She's light, sleek, and finished to perfection."

The 750's helm configuration is equally innovative, featuring three distinct helm locations: a forward cockpit, a fixed bulkhead helm to port, and Balance's signature pivoting VersaHelm® to starboard. Owners also have the option to add a lounge-style flybridge or a fully enclosed flybridge coach roof.

Performance Meets Luxury in Its Highest Form

Capable of sailing at wind speed in light airs and reaching well into the 20-knot range in stronger conditions, the Balance 750 is a rare breed. She was conceived for sailors who've found even high-end charter cats too sluggish, yet want more comfort and style than traditional high-performance cats have traditionally provided.

"She's for voyagers who aren't willing to compromise, who want to travel far and fast, but do it surrounded by elegance," Berman said. "To be clear, there are very, very few catamarans on the market today to rival her performance. And none that have managed to stake the claim of being the most luxurious high -performance catamaran in the world today."

A Brand on the Move

The Balance 750 caps off a remarkable season of innovation for Balance Catamarans. In April, the company launched the first two catamarans in its new 580 line. The recently introduced Balance 502 enters the water this August, with the new 464 following closely behind in Cape Town. These additions join the proven 526 to form a full lineup of performance luxury catamarans, from 46 -to-75 feet.

Innovation has always defined Balance from its VersaHelm® to its latest collaboration with Integrel Solutions to develop fast-charging, energy-independent hybrid propulsion systems. But the 750 truly marks a new summit where cutting-edge sailing meets handcrafted elegance.

Leave it to Balance Catamarans to strike the perfect balance, again!
