Apprentices are a corner stone of our industry and have a vital role in the industry's ongoing success. These awards aim to recognise the exceptional contributions of apprentices to the marine industry and highlighting the importance of training and career development within the sector.

This prestigious award is open to any apprentice currently enrolled or have completed a formal apprenticeship within the past 12 months. The awards will feature state specific recognitions across Australia, culminating in an overall winner to be announced at the new format Sydney Boat Show in August.

In 2025, the Apprentice of the Year Award is open to all marine industry businesses, member and non-member.

Winners will be honoured with a trophy and certificate, along with a $500 voucher kindly provided by BIA Partner Repco Commercial to put towards tools for each State winner, whilst the overall winner will receive a $1000 Repco voucher as well as a special prize to be announced at the awards ceremony to be held at the Sydney Boat Show, Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park on 14 August.

We invite you to nominate your exceptional apprentices. Nominations will be evaluated based on their achievements, contributions to their employer, attitude and willingness to learn and contribute to the industry.

Submit your nominations via the online form here by 11 July 2025.

Let's celebrate the future of our industry by recognising and rewarding our outstanding apprentices!
